This project showcases a cross-section of New York City culture that highlights the multidisciplinary connections of contemporary culture. Music inspires fashion, street art inspires fine art, youth inspires establishment. Each participant in CNNCTD+100 is using a Playbutton—a wearable pin that doubles as an MP3 player—as the canvas for their audio and visual designs. I’ve been chosen to be one of the participating artists in this show! The Playbutton I illustrated will include a personal selected music mix that I made with my homie DJ Zo of Makers Studio. The New Museum showcases all buttons, along with a listening party at the New Museum on May 1st.
